Terms of Service

Last updated: 10 May 2026

These terms govern your use of getshortlisted.ai ("the service"). The service is operated from Switzerland. By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or using any part of the service, you agree to these terms.

1. What the service does

getshortlisted helps you write, structure, translate, and export a CV. It uses an AI model (currently OpenAI's API) to suggest edits to text you have written. It does not write your CV for you, and it does not submit applications on your behalf.

The service is offered free of charge during the current phase. Features, limits, and pricing may change as the product evolves; material changes are announced in-product or by email.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

One account per person. You may not share an account or use the service on behalf of someone else without their explicit consent.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content that is not yours or that you do not have permission to process — including someone else's CV, identity, or work history.
  • Use the service to generate fraudulent, misleading, defamatory, or unlawful content.
  • Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or scrape the service, its prompts, or its underlying models.
  • Submit content designed to circumvent the AI provider's safety policies or to elicit prohibited outputs.
  • Use the service to send spam, harass, or impersonate another person.
  • Probe, scan, overload, or otherwise interfere with the infrastructure or with other users.

4. Your content and what we do with it

You keep ownership of everything you upload — your profile data, your CV drafts, the job descriptions you paste in, the PDFs you import.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content for the sole purpose of running the service for you: storing it on our infrastructure, sending it to our AI sub-processor when you trigger an AI action, and rendering the exported document. The licence ends when you delete the data or close your account.

We do not sell your content. We do not share it with third parties beyond the sub-processors listed in the privacy policy. We do not train AI models on it, and the AI provider we use is contractually committed to not training on API inputs.

5. The CV you produce is yours

The CV, cover letter, or other document the service helps you produce is yours. We claim no copyright, no usage rights, and no ongoing licence over the output. Use it, share it, print it, hand it to recruiters — it's your document.

The service itself — the application code, the design, the prompts, the schema, the brand — is ours. You may not copy, redistribute, or build a competing product from it without permission.

6. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, particularly section 3 (acceptable use), or if your activity poses a risk to the service or to other users. Where the breach is not malicious, we will try to contact you first.

You may close your account at any time. Account closure triggers deletion of your profile data, drafts, and exports as described in the privacy policy.

7. No warranty, limited liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". AI suggestions can be wrong, biased, or misleading — you remain responsible for reviewing every line before you send a CV to a recruiter.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, including the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence, we disclaim all implied warranties (fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy of AI output). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost job opportunities, lost income, or reputational harm arising from how a recruiter interpreted a CV produced with the service.

Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited — including for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or personal injury.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the product, the law, or our sub-processors change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes are notified in-product or by email at least 14 days before they take effect; continued use after that date counts as acceptance.

9. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is the operator's domicile in Switzerland, subject to mandatory consumer-protection venues that may apply to users resident in the EU.

Before going to court, please contact us — most disputes are resolved by email faster than by litigation.
